Day 3 brings us to Juno. The weather was overcast. We took a wilderness sightseeing voyage on a covered hi-speed catamaran. The sights were wonderful and we saw many different things. Below you will find pictures on our voyage. Enjoy!

I love this picture. Look how the clouds hang against the coastline mountains. These two pictures were taken just entering Juno's Port. Another in the same area. Note the water fall. Scenery here is breath taking! Very close to Port and yet another waterfall. Coming into Port, as seen from our balcony.
See the other cruise ships docked in Port? Simply beautiful. Never mind the water spots, SEE THE WHALE? More Humpback whale sightings. Same whale. It just came up for another breath.
Here we see the Lighthouse and the caretakers house. The Lighthouse is all automated and run with solar cells. Beautiful coastline! Look real close in the center of these two pictures. See the Bald Eagles? A mated pair is sitting in the tree. Awesome sight with binoculars.
In the center of this picture are a group of Sea Lions. Off to the left are a group of Harbor Seals. These Seals and Sea Lions are on a beach of a real small island in the middle of the channel. While they are on this Island their main predators are unable to reach them. Orkas, also known as "Killer Whales", like Harbor Seals but will also eat Sea Lions. Killer Whales usually hunt in packs and tend to corral their prey. When the Seals spot the whales they try to flee and become confused. It is in this confusion that the Orkas are able to catch these faster swimmers and have lunch.
More Hump Back Whale sighting. (Look in the center of the pictures.) More Hump Back Whale sighting. (Look in the center of the pictures.) More Hump Back Whale sighting. (Look in the center of the pictures.) GREAT SHOT of the  Hump Back Whale surfacing.
The Whale is in the distance. The Whale is in the distance. The Whale is in the distance. The Whale is in the distance.
The Whale is in the distance. The Whale is between us and that small boat. The Whale is between us and that small boat. The Whale is between us and that small boat.
The Whale is between us and that small boat. WOW! Whale Tail!!! More tail. A cabin on the coast line.
This is the "Beverly Hills" of Juno. The bow of our catamaran. This is our buss driver Mike. He was absolutely hilarious. He made the short drive a pleasure. This is the Mendenhall Glacier.
Info on the creation of glaciers. Info on the creation of glaciers. Mendenhall Glacier Observatory. A map of the Juno Ice Field.
A view of the Mendenhall Glacier from the observatory. See the waterfall? This is not from melting glacier water but from rain runoff and is only about 25% of the flow as there has been little rain. Another view of the Mendenhall Glacier.

The lake at the bottom of the Mendenhall Glacier.

Bear Proof trash cans. I got such a kick out of these that I just had to take a picture.
Well, behind us is the cutest carved bear chair. We should have stood to the side so everyone could see it. Animated figure by one of the shops. Looking back toward Down Town Juno. The Gondola to the top of the mountain, and our ship in the background.

Neat waterfall along the road to town. A view of our ship, The Infinity.
