The Ranchero is out of the paint shop and I now am tweeking the engine. I installed a Ford 9" rear end with 3.70's. Welded up a set of straight pipes and changed all the front control arms. I got an X-303 Cam and a set of Y-303 heads for the engine. Everything seems to run real good. I took it to Bob Jennings Dyno Shop and it pulled 290 "Rear Wheel" HP @ 6,500 RPM. This means I have 420 HP from the engine. I am happy!

Soon I will bolt on a GMC 6-71 Blower built by Dyer's Blowers.

Out of the paint shop. I decided to let the professional do it. I am glad I did! It is just beautiful. If you look in the background, you will see my wife's 1999 Mustang. Here is the completed engine. This shows the lifters. Yep, it is a Roller Motor.
Another And a third look at the condition of the inside of the motor after 30,000 miles. Here is the front of the 9" reared. Here is the rear of the 9" reared.
Here are the straight pipes I built. They are built out of 2-1/2" aluminized tubing with an "X" crossover and chrome plated tips. I rerouted the gas tank filler to the bed of the truck. Real neat installation. I have to put the gas in real slow or it burps back. Here is the upper "A" frame on the drivers side. See how the spring perch mounting holes are all torn out? This is one of the reasons I was having such poor handling!
Here I have welded in some frame connecters. You can see I used 3" channel Iron and 1 x 2 11 Ga. rectangular tubing which is welded inside of the channel iron. Then I welded the channel iron to the front frame. Here you can see the rectangular tubing as it runs from the front to the back. You can also see the little bullet muffler also. Here you can see where I welded the tubing to some 3/16" angle iron and then welded to the rear frame. Pics prier to the 16th annual Chilly Cook-off & Car Show!

The 3 boxes delivered by UPS. They are aprox. 50 pounds each. Here is the drive snout and drive pulley with harmonic balancer. Here are all the parts awaiting the engine disassembly. I had to install an all new fuel delivery system. This is the modified tank pick=up.

Here I am test fitting the blower to find out what needs to be cut or modified. Looks Cool!
